Welcome to the Saint John Model Flying Club's website.

Please see the "Announcements", as all club activities will be posted there.

The Saint John Model Flying Club is a non-profit radio control model airplane club, located in Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada.  With over 50 members, SJMFC is a fairly large club. Regular Club Meetings are held from October to May. You do not have to be a member to attend these meetings.  The meeting place is Brenan's Bayview Funeral Home at 1461 Manawagonish Road, and the meetings are every third Tuesday of the month, starting in October at 7:00 p.m.. In the summer we meet every Wednesday evening for club night flying. At our airfield we can fly anytime we like, as we are located approximately 3 KM from the nearest residential dwelling.

The club's airfield is located on the outskirts of West Saint John, take exit 112 from Route 1, onto the Lorneville and Colson Cove Generating Station road. Drive past the Ultramar Gas Station, take your next right on the Paddys Hill  Drive and you will come to another gate, if it is open, drive on through to the end of the road and you are at our field The Site is approximately 100 acres with 3 large runways and ample parking.

We also have a regular site for slope flying, with the slope facing due South, approximately 100 feet above the Bay of Fundy. This site is located at Red Head (Telegraph Corner), and we meet there every Thursday night around 6:00 PM if the wind is right. Give one of the Officers a call if you like to try this relaxing and exciting sport.  We also have an indoor flying site which may change from year to year; Club officers can advise the current location.

The club has several designated instructors who are able to teach beginners. This instruction is of no charge to members, in the spirit of promoting the Club and the hobby.

Prospective members are always invited to attend the meetings, and are also welcome to stop by the Field on the above mentioned Flying Night, or if the inside gate is open, please come on in.The instructors would be pleased to give you an introductory flight on Wednesday nights using one of the club's Trainer Aircraft (Telemaster 40, RC-Trainer and PT-60 with Buddy Boxes).

New members are always welcome to Join. They do require proof of MAAC or AMA before becoming a member of the Club. Guests are welcome, but have to produce valid MAAC/AMA plus demonstrate compentency before one of our members prior to flying at our field.

Our sites are covered by MAAC Insurance.
